If you are looking to learn how to draw a dog, then you are in the right place.

This is a tutorial blog that will teach you how to draw a simple dog. I’ve been drawing for a long time and have broken this dog drawing into 5 easy-to-follow steps so anyone can learn how to draw a dog.

Step 1: Draw a Weird Shape (The Dogs Head)

The first thing you wanna do, when learning how to draw a dog, is draw the shape below. This weird shape will end up being the dogs head. It will make more sense once we add all the other dog features. This is pretty similar to my corgi and fat cat tutorial, so check those out too.

Step 2: Give Him Some Eyes

This dog needs to see!! Two circles make great eyes. This is your chance to give this dog some emotion. Try making him angry, or something.

Step 3: Draw a Dog Nose

Although eyes are important, everyone knows that a dog mainly uses its nose to interact with the world. So lets give him one of those. I do a black circle on the tip of the snout.

Step 4: Time for Some Ears

A dogs gotta hear right? Well, some goofy oval shapes make great floppy style ears.

Step 5: Add the Details

Give the dog a mouth, and draw some dots and random scratches to give this dog drawing some texture.

Bonus Step: Uhhhhh… color and Shade

The final step is the same bonus step as always. Do the flat colors then shade it.
