How to Draw a slime in 4 easy Steps
Wanna learn how to draw a slime? Then you’re in the right place. I make learning to draw a slime super simple by breaking it down into basic shapes and using easy to follow steps. Would you consider this a slime or a sludge? I don’t really know. Either way after reading this you’ll have a cool little goopy guy to show your friends.
What the final slime drawing will look like:

Step 1: Draw a blob
The first thing you gotta do when learning how to draw a slime monster is draw a blob. Don’t beat yourself up trying to get this step perfect, the blobbier the better. A slime drawing can go a lot of directions. This is your chance to really go crazy with the shape of your slime.

Step 2: Give the Slime a mouth
Now we’ll give this slime drawing a mouth. This one is gonna be hard to commit to words but I’m gonna try so bear with me (maybe just look at the image if you want). I just draw a wiggly line in the shape of a mouth. Hmmmm… that wasn’t as hard to explain as I thought.

Step 3: Finish the face
Our slime drawing needs eyes and a tongue, so we’ll draw that now. First, draw two circles for eyes, obviously. I drew some squiggly lines under them to make them look melty and slimy. After that draw a tongue in the mouth and our slime is one step closer to completion.

Step 4: Draw the Details
Time to make this slime monster look goopy. Draw some random squiggly lines wherever you want, really. I added random dots and scratches to my slime, but you can leave those out if you want your slime drawing to look less busy.

Bonus Step: Shade and Highlight the Slime
If you wanna keep going, you can add the flat colors. I went with blue slime and a green tongue. Slimes can be all sorts of colors, so do whatever you like here. After that, pick a light direction and stick to it as you add the shadows and highlights.

Oh wow!! Your slime drawing looks great. Thanks for sticking around this long, I really appreciate it.

Drawing Challenge
Start the tutorial again but use a different shaped blob for step 1. You’ll get a completely different slime, which can be kinda cool.

What is the difference between slime and sludge?
Slime is usually thick, slippery, and gooey, while sludge is often used to describe thick, muddy or dirty liquid. For a cartoon monster, the two can overlap, so you can call your creature whichever you like.
What should I draw with a slime monster?
You could draw a puddle of slime, a creepy laboratory, a sewer, a toxic barrel or other monsters alongside it. A few drips and splatters around its feet can also help build a scene.
How do you make a slime monster look scary?
Give your slime monster a menacing expression, sharp teeth, uneven eyes, or long, dripping arms. Darker colors and exaggerated features can make it look more frightening.
