Learn How to Draw a Coffee Cup in 4 Easy to Follow Steps
Have you ever wanted to draw a coffee cup? If so, I’ve got a pretty simple one for you today. I’ll be teaching you how to draw a coffee cup in 4 easy to follow steps. Follow along with this beginner friendly tutorial to get one step closer to being an artist just like me.
Here’s the final coffee cup drawing for people who don’t wanna read the whole thing:
Step 1: Draw a Rounded Square
Just like all my other tutorials, it’s important to break the drawing down into simple shapes.
Which is why…
Step one of drawing a coffee cup is to draw a rounded square.
Step 2: Draw the Coffee
Draw an oval at the top of the rounded square. This is the hole in the top of the coffee cup. (Where the coffee goes)
Step 3: Draw the Handle of the Coffee Cup
This is always the hardest part of drawing the coffee cup for me. The best way to make a handle is to draw a backwards “C.” You can add the other lines to make it look more 3D but you don’t have to.
Step 4: Draw the Details
Scratch the coffee cup up. Make it look old and used. I even put a chip in the lip of my cup.
Bonus Step: Color and Shade the Coffee Cup
Coffee is brown and the cup can be whatever color you want. A lot of the time coffee cups have logos or lame slogans, so add one of those if you want too.
