How to Draw a Christmas Tree in 5 easy Steps
Tis the season for learning how to draw a Christmas tree. It can be pretty tricky, but lucky for you I make it super easy by breaking it down into simple shapes that anybody can draw. Follow the steps below and before you know it you’ll be a pro Christmas tree drawer.
The final Christmas tree drawing will look like this:

Step 1: Draw a Cone
The first step in learning how to draw a Christmas tree is drawing a cone. A cone is just a triangle with a rounded bottom. If this is giving you trouble, I went over this extensively in my how to draw a cone tutorial.

Step 2: Draw the Tree Stump
This step is pretty simple. Just draw a rectangle at the bottom of your cone. I think that makes a good tree stump.

Step 3: make the tree Fluffy…
Not sure if fluffy is the right word, but you get the idea. Draw these wavy lines all around the cone to make it look more like a tree. Now you’ve got a pretty good looking pine tree, so you can stop here if you want.

Step 4: Decorate the Christmas tree
First, I cover the ball in different-sized circles. Those will be ornaments. After that, I wrap the tree in garland. Make sure to tuck it under the fluffy parts of the tree. Finally, I top the tree off with a star.

Step 5: Draw the Details
There is a lot going on in this drawing, so exercise caution with this step. Draw some random scratches and dots all over your Christmas tree drawing to make it look aged and weathered, and you’re all done. Nice!!

Bonus Step: Color the Christmas Tree
Don’t stop here. It’s time to color your Christmas tree drawing. First, pick some flat colors. Then choose a light source and keep it consistent as you shade and highlight.

Wow, if you made it all the way down here, you’re probably better than me at drawing Christmas trees. Thanks for reading!

What else can I put on my Christmas tree?
You can add candy canes, bows, lights, tinsel, or even some goofy homemade ornaments. Try drawing a few ornaments in unusual shapes to give your Christmas tree more personality.
How can I make my Christmas tree look different?
Experiment with the shape and size of your tree. You could draw a tall, skinny tree, a short and wide one, or a crooked tree with branches sticking out at odd angles. You could even give it a lopsided star on top.
