How to Draw a Sun in 5 easy Steps

Step 1: Draw a Circle

The first step, just like most drawings, is to draw a circle. Remember, it doesn’t have to be perfect.

Step 2: Draw the sun Rays

Now it’s time to draw the sun rays. I hate pointy things. So I draw a soft wavy line all the way around the circle from step one. There you have it, a sun. You can stop here if you want or keep going if you’re tryin to get a little zany.

Step 3: Draw Some Sun Glasses

Remember earlier when I said I hated pointy things? Well I lied, because I love pointy sunglasses. Two upside down triangles make the perfect sunglasses.

Step 4: Draw The Mouth

I decided to make my sun a little grumpy, but you can give yours a smile… or whatever.

Step 5: Add the Details

The last thing to do is add some final details. I drew some extra flares coming off the sun by just randomly drawing circles around the outside. Then just scratch him up and you’re done.

Bonus Step: Shade and Highlight the Sun
