Do you want to learn to draw a cartoon alien? Are you here because you googled “how to draw a cartoon alien”? Is learning to draw an alien one of your top priorities? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you’ve come to the right place.

I’ve been drawing aliens for thousands of years and today I’ve decided to pass those years of knowledge on to you. Continue reading and after 5 easy to follow steps, even YOU will be able to draw a cartoon alien.

Step 1: Draw an Upside Down Egg

The first step in learning to draw a cartoon alien is pretty self explanatory. Draw an upside down egg shape. This will be the aliens head. Don’t get caught up trying to make the shape perfect. We can’t even begin to conceive of what an alien would look like. So, any shape will prolly work here. If you’re having trouble, go check out my how to draw a sphere tutorial. It’ll help you with drawing all sorts of cartoon heads.

Step 2: Give Him Some Eyes

This alien needs to see stuff. So I’ll give him some eyes. A couple of squished circles make perfect alien eyes. This is actually the perfect place to plug my tutorial on how to draw an eyeball, go check that out if you want some more eye practice.

Step 3: Draw an Alien Nose

Alien noses are pretty easy. Just draw 2 lines.

Step 4: Draw an Alien Mouth

Alien mouths are even easier. Just draw 1 line.

Step 5: Add the Details

Some random scratches and dots will give this alien some much needed texture. This step also serves to trick people into thinking you are better at drawing than you actually are. If you like a smooth cartoon alien with literally no character you can skip this step entirely.

Bonus Step: Color / Shade

Classic bonus step. Just color and shade it. Some people say aliens are grey. But whenever I draw them, I make them green. This alien needs somewhere to live, go learn how to draw a planet for him to live on.

There you have it, you’re a pro cartoon alien drawer!! Keep practicing and one day you’ll be better than me! (shouldn’t be to hard)
