How to Draw a Skateboard in 4 easy Steps

Learning how to draw a skateboard is practically impossible.

But not anymore…

Because I’ve broken it down into 4 easy steps and made them extremely simple by using basic shapes. That way anybody can learn to draw a skateboard the easiest way.

The final skateboard drawing:

Step 1: Draw a Triangle

I always start with simple shapes. This skateboard drawing is no different. Start by drawing a long, skateboard shaped triangle. Round the corners unless you like them sharp.

Step 2: Make the Triangle Thick

To make the skateboard 3 dimensional, draw a parallel line that follows the right side of the triangle. Now your skateboard drawing has some depth.

Step 3: Draw The Trucks

This skateboard needs some trucks. So we’ll draw those now. Kinda complicated to explain in writing, but I’ll try. I start with a square. On top of that I draw a cylinder, then add a little bump out where the kingpin goes. Then draw two circles for the wheels. Good luck, I know you can handle it.

Step 4: Draw Graphic and Details

I went with a skull graphic because they’re easy to draw, but you could do whatever you want here. After that, I added some random scratches and dots.

Bonus Step: Shade and Highlight the Skateboard

If you want, you can color it in, then add shadows and highlights. You could also download the coloring sheet if you’re not into drawing.

Does my skateboard need to be a triangle?

There are a ton of skateboard shapes out there. Popsicle, 80’s fish, coffin, cruiser… the list goes on and on. Pick your favorite skateboard shape and replace it with step one.

I’m not a fan of the skull graphic, any other options?

Your skateboard graphic can be anything you want it to be. Try a flower, maybe?
