Learn how to Draw a Skull The Easiest Way Drawing Tutorial

Learning how to draw a skull is next to impossible. Skulls have eyes, a nose, and a ton of teeth. Figuring out where all of these features go is prolly one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do in my life.

But don’t worry…

Because I’ve taken the time to draw a million skulls, and have taken all of the guess work out of learning how to draw a skull. I’ve broken it down into 6 easy steps. Follow them to get one step closer to being a crappy cartoonist just like me!!

Step 1 | Draw a circle

This one is simple… Draw a circle. This is gonna be a skull drawing eventually.

Step 2 | Add the Eyes

Draw two circles on the inside of the first circle. This skull is gonna be 3/4th view so we’ll stick them on the left side, and make the left eye a little smaller so it’s in “perspective.”

Step 3 | Draw the Nose

The nose is basically an upside down heart (with soft corners). So if you need to, just flip the paper and draw a heart… then soften the pointy parts.

Step 4 | Add the Cheek Bones

Start by drawing a vertical line under each eye, this will be the upper jaw. Then from the top of those lines, draw a curved line that goes around the eyes to form the cheek bones. After that make it extra fancy with some curvy lines on the right cheek bones.

Step 5 | Add the Teeth

This one is kinda hard to describe, but I’m gonna try. I start at the bottom of the upper jaw lines we drew earlier. I connect them with a wavy type of line, this is the top of the teeth. Then I do the same wavy type line upside down and backwards to form the bottom of the teeth.

Did that make sense? Prolly not… Maybe this gif will help?

Step 6 | Add the Details

Scratch up the skull and make it look cool. You’re done!!

Bonus Step | Color and Shade

If you’re feeling bold, go ahead and color and shade it!!

Thanks for stickin’ around this long. I’m sure you’re a pro skull drawer now!!! But don’t stop here I have all sorts of other gnarly how to draw tutorials, so go check them out.
